Coffee

This is a short inspired by Richard Brautigan's short story/poem, "Coffee." It is very simple and will only be one shot.

We have a tight shot on a table with a womans hands. Two coffee cups come into view that are set there by a mans hands.

The idea is that we will be told the story of a relationship over the years through only the action of the hands.

Another action after the cups being set down may be the guys hands nervously drumming the table and then slowly creeping over to the woman's hands. She may play hard to get. But then they will eventually be holding hands. They may have a fight. The coffee may spill but then the woman might offer the man some of her coffee and pour it in his cup from her own cup.

I was thinking the end would be both of the cups are empty and they are kind of sitting there bored and then two little espresso cups come into the shot.

It needs more and any emotions or life situations that can be added are welcomed. I also am trying to think of a better idea for the ending because all of my stories seem to be "cute."

Refridger-Rescue

Here is an undeveloped idea that needs more:

There is a guy that is digging through the fridge looking for something to eat. He keeps opening things and they are rotten. He looks and looks but there is nothing good. He sees a Chinese food box in the way back of the fridge and stretches for it.

The next shot is a wide shot of him digging deep in the fridge. Our view of him is mostly blocked by the fridge door. He starts to pull something out and a big chubby guy wearing a white t-shirt rolls/falls/stumbles out of the fridge (think Matt Vaurs). He stands up and brushes himself off because he has a bunch of rotten stuff on him and then looks at the shocked guy who was digging for food. He smiles broadly and then gives the guy a giant hug.

CUT TO BLACK.

WIDE We see a man standing in front of a refrigerator. He is deeply involved in rumiging through its contents. We hear the clincing and slidding of glass and styrofoam.


CU ( CHEESY INSIDE THE FRIDGE CAM) We see the face of the man looking around in the fridge from inside the fridge. He stops rumagin and looks, stares, afraid he may not find anything. he's starving. His eyes spot something and he grabs and shakes it enthusiastically but his reaction shows us that its empty.

MEDIUM OUTSIDE THE FRIDGE. He pulls out a a bag, cautiously holds it with one arm at a distance from his facefor a moment before snapping it open. From the tiny bag quickly eminates the most aweful stench he has ever smelled. It hits him in the face and he grimaces adn shakes his head stuffing the bag quickly back in the fridge.



INSIDE THE FRIDGE SHOT He searches again and then pulls out an unidentifiable square piece of food, examines it daintily, brushes something off of it, maybe picks off a hair and takes a small nibble. He chews for a moment but then violently reacts, making a squinty eyed squirmy look.

CU Milk carton. We see for a moment before flailing arms block our vision that on the side off the milk cartonn is the picture of a young bearded man labeled to be "Missing." Our characters hands quickly come to the carton and grab it.

WIDE He takes several long deep drinks off the carton. We see the missing ad clearly. He puts the carton down and breathes deeply to recover his lost breath after slaming the milk. He subltely reacts like the milk may have a funny taste but nothing violent. He looks at the date before putting it back in the fridge.

CHEESY IN THE FRIDGE SHOT He sets the milk back on the shelf and looks inside but there is clearly nothing inside worth while. He closes the door and it goes black.

WIDE the screen is black but we can make out our man sitting down at a table. His face becomes illuminated in low blue light as he awakens his computer from sleep. He turns on a lamp on the desk and opens a book removing a pencil used as a book mark.

MEDIUM CLOSE UP. He studies his book and chews his pencil. While he reads his knawing becomes heavier untill he shocks himself by crunching into his pencil. He looks at it and then stands up out of frame.

Medium from behind. It is slightly dark in the kitchen until Our Guy snaps on the kitchen lighy and opens the fridge again. From behind him we see the milk carton and miscelanious generic food containers. He begins rummaging again.

INSIDE THE FRIDGE SHOT. We see his face in a 3-degrees-under-dire look looking at various cartons quckly. He stops as he spots something in the very back corner of the fride and reaches.
His shouldfer and face go out of focus as he reaches and presses around and against the camera. We may see briefly that he has a goofy strained look on his face.

CU his hand strains to grab a white cubed chinese food carton.

WIDE WIDE from behind. He has his head fully inserted into the refirderatio sraining for the food.

ECU Ugly blurry maybe shaky shot of his face nearly pressed agains the camera lens. He jumps back in shock

Same WIDE WIDE. Out of the fridfge rollls clunklity to the floor a full sized man slightly obscured by the refridgerator door.

REAX he stares wide eyed down at the floor and a man slowly rises into frame. Food chunks are on his clothes and in his hair. Our Mans look of shock turns into a sideways looking "what the fuck?" look.

WIDE REVERSE the two men are staring aqwardly at each other. The guy that has fallen oout of the fridge is clearly the man on the milk carton. He is covered in wilted spinach, various multi colored stains and spagetti hanging from his cheek. After a beat a broad smile comes arcoss his face as he enthusiasticly wraps his arms fully around Our Guy in a hearty bear hug.

CU Our guys face has a smile come across it.

Photomatic

Here is an idea for a first project I want to do. There can be no dialouge and it needs to be shootable on a weekend with the resources that I have (none). Take a read and let me know what you think. Leave a comment or even better pick a font color and write on the post itself. The creator can be black (me).

This is the general sloppy idea:

There is a guy walking around a college campus. He is wading his way through the masses of students during a break in classes. He sees a girl walking through the crowds and his eyes follow her. She disappears in to the crowd.

Later he sees her again as he is walking by some outdoor tables. He stops and stares at her for a little bit but then walks on.

The next day he is sitting at a table near where he saw her yesterday but she is not there this time. He is reading and he looks over his book and she sits at a table near him. He gets up and puts his stuff away and walks toward her but doesn't stop to talk to her.

Next we see him sitting in a boring small office at a desk with a line of people with backpacks on. A flash goes off and we hear the sound of a camera snapping. We see him sitting at a desk behind a computer being really bored. A person sits down and and he takes a photo of them without even really looking at them. He is really bored looking. A couple of these go by and we see him taking crappy photos of people not ready to have their photos taken, looking away, eyes closed, etc.

Then someone sits down in the photo chair and it is the girl. He instantly perks up. He gestures for her to sit up a little straighter and snaps a photo. He looks at it and gestures "one more" or something to tell her he is going to take one more. He snaps it but then tells her to stand up. Now he has a full sized DSLR and is leaning over the counter getting into taking photos.

Next is a bunch of quick cuts, tight shots of them taking photos.

Next we see that it is only them two in the office and they are doing modeling poses and stuff, next it is her wearing an elegant dress taking photos. then it is them both dancing together in the room. Then he goes to make a move and kiss her but she slaps him.

This brings him out of his daydream and we see her sitting in the chair looking strangly at him. He snaps to it and take a photo with the computer. She hands him a document and he writes some stuff on it and is looking over the computer at her as he types some stuff. The card comes out and he hands it to her.

She leaves and he watches her go. He is still holding the paper and then he looks at it. It is a form and it has her phone number on it. He looks at the phone number.

CUT TO BLACK.
